Birthday Inspired by Nature

I've been meaning to share this birthday card with you for a while now!
I think this flower image looks a lot like everything I associate with the month of August. Hot, tired and in no rush to do anything. Perfect summertime feeling!
I used:
* Inspired by Nature and On Your Birthday stamp sets
* Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Whisper White card stocks
* Old Olive, Chocolte Chip and So Saffron markers
* Ribbon Border Punch
* Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrin ribbon and linen thread
* Button Latte
* Vanilla Shimmer Spritz

Decor Elements!!!

A few weeks ago I went to a local home decor store with my 2010-2011 Definitely Decorative catalog and a trusty ruler and purchased a whole bunch of plates! I know I looked like a weirdo, but in the end I think I made some really nice things. Some I'll sell, some I'll give as gifts and some will be staying at my house forevermore! Yay!

Here is my first taste of Thanksgiving for the year. Do you love it? Wouldn't it make the best hostess gift?
(Note: Candi, just because Thanksgiving is at your house this year doesn't mean your getting this. I meant that hostess gift comment purely hypothetically.)
Used: Small, Chocolate "Hem Your Blessings"

This is just a sweet little plate that could add a bit of holiday cheer anywhere you put it! I love the look of the red on white. So Jolly!

This is the same except on a vanilla color plate. Still so sweet.

And one last time, the same decor element but on a much larger clear plate.
Used: Small, Real Red "Jingle all the Way"

This last piece I made sort of on a whim. I had no idea that it would come out THIS nice! I love when that happens! After I set it up, I liked it so much I left it. It's still on my bookshelf in my living room and I'm still loving it.
Used: White "Baroque Medallions"
You may notice that all of these pictures are taken on top of the same bookshelf. Why? Well, it's the only clean place in the entire house. Also, I used glassybaby in all of the pictures as accents because I'm obsessed with them and also, I have A LOT so I figured I ought to use them for something. Right? (my favorites in these pictures are tangerine and black cat. Can you spot them?)

More Friends!

Here are a few miscellaneous cards I've made using the Friends Never Fade stamp set in the last couple of weeks.

This was for my best friend, Elizabeth. Happy Birthday!!!
I guess I should have used the stamp called Elizabeth for her. I'll work on that for next time.

This is a little 3x3 notecard that I made for Linda for winning the blog candy giveaway.
Congrats again Linda!
I'm not sure if you can see, but this card is covered with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz so it's really shiny and pretty. The colors I used for this are Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz. I'm loving those new in-colors!

This is a card I made for my Friends Never Fade class, but didn't make the cut because my hubby didn't like it. I still love the card so I'll probably be making one for each of the ladies coming to the class, as a thank you. I hope they like it as much as I do!
I better go get the final preparations done for my class on Wednesday. I'm so excited!

Robots and PPA 54!

This weeks challenge over at Pals Paper Arts is to make a simple and manly card. Is it just me or does this discription sound alot like your husband too? Manly and Simple? Yep. That's him!

If nothing else this card is at least very simple. I think from start to finish it took maybe 15 minutes. To reproduce, it should take less than 5, which is my definition of simple. Yay!
I could see myself giving this card to Josh, except I don't really see myself needing to apologize, but I told him to feel free to use it next time he screws up. With some real flowers too of course.  Heh heh.
Here's a close up of the little bot. I just used some markers to break up the grey and add some whimsy.

I used:
* Lots of Bots stamp set
* Basic Grey, Going Grey and Whisper White card stock
* Basic Grey ink pad
* Poppy Parade and Pumpkin Pie markers
* Real Red 5/8" grosgrain ribbon

More Babies!

I've really been enjoying my new baby set, Baby Bundle. Mostly, I like the little baby head stamp. I'm not sure I'll ever make another baby card without it!

I made this card originally for my friend Laura, who just had a baby boy (CONGRATS!) and then I went ahead and made it in girl too so I'd be prepared for a while!

You see the little baby face peeking out? See it? See it?
To make the scallops, I just attached 3/4" circles to the back of the pink circle. It's a little tricky to get them to look even but I just use my snail adhesive to stick them really loosely til I like how they look. It gets easier after a while.
I used my blender pens and stampin pastels to color the image, and to highlight the polka dot pattern from the stroller in the background I used a sponge to lightly go over the embossed polka dots.

And the inside:

I used:
*Baby Bundle stamp set
* For boy card: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Real Red and Whisper White Card stock
* Night of navy ink pad and sponge
* For girl card: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Whisper White Card stock
*Melon Mambo ink pad and sponge
* Black Stayz On ink
* Blender pen and Stampin' Pastels
* Heart to Heart, Modern Label, Word Window and 3/4" circle punches
* Circle Scissors Plus (3" and 3 1/4" circles)
* Perfect Polka Dots Impressions folder

Baby Gift!

I was invited to a good friend's baby shower tonight. She'll be getting a little blue bundle pretty soon here so I wanted to make an extra cute gift for her! Here it is!

I had a plain white gift bag from craft store and just decorated the front with card stock, stamps and ribbon. So fun!

As part of my gift, I made her a set of these little thank you notes to use for all the fab stuff she got tonight. Also, I don't make a very nice baby blanket like everyone else at the shower, so I thought cards would maybe be ok instead! Do you love the little baby face poking up as much as I do?

Here is the pack of 10 cards with envelopes that coordinate with the bag.
In case you're thinking I'm the biggest cheapskate on the planet, I also gave her a couple outfits. Also blue!

I used:
* Baby Bundle and Thank You Kindly stamp sets
* Whisper White and Marina Mist card stock
* Marina Mist designer paper
* Chocolate Chip and Marina Mist ink
* Bashful Blue Marker
* Bashful Blue satin ribbon (retired), linen thread and hemp twine
* Button Latte (retired)
* Perfect Polk Dots impressions folder (my favorite!)
* Extra Large Scallop Circle and 1 3/8" circle punches
