Happy Valentine's Day!

Here are some of the simple Valentines I made for my kids to help write in and decorate. I was going for the look of what we made as kids using construction paper, paper doilies, markers and glue. You know what I mean!

The base is just a 4 1/4" square

and the only part that opens is the heart on the front.

The heart is from the Hearts Collection of Framelits dies, which I love! I just folded a piece of Real Red card stock and rolled it though my big shot like normal. Those little dies look fragile but they handle 2 layers of card stock with no problem at all. Woot!

Outlined Occasions Valentine (Sneek Peek!)

This card features a stamp set that will be released on Tuesday January 24th as part of the sale-a-bration event. The Biggest Stampin' Up! event of the year! Yay!

Oh, and it also shows off a bunch of the new dies that just came out on the Occasions Mini catalog. I can't say no to all the cute hearts!

Valentine Dinner Invites

I LOVE making Valentines! There's something about hearts and pink and red and love that make me so happy! 

I made these two invitations for a  friend who's hosting a Valentines dinner party. Since I'm not sure what she'll like, I figured I'd make two options as different as possible hoping one of them will work.

Option 1: Red Heart Love

I was so excited to use my new stuff for this card! The boy and girl on the bike stamp have been eating away at me since I saw a sneak peek of them months ago and the new Hearts Collection of framelits dies are just way to cool for words! Such a good bargain for so many hearts!

Be Mine Valentine

I said I'd be back soon and look at me, I'm posting 2 days in a row! Woot!

Because February is coming up so fast, I got out ALL of my Valentine stuff tonight and...had a complete blank. Its hard to get back into things! But The Paper Players luckily has a great challenge going with a nice easy welcome into stamping for 2012. Thanks Paper Players!

The theme challenge is All You Need is Love and here's what I came up with:

You can't see it but the whole thing is covered with Vanilla Smooch Spritz that adds a nice subtle shine. Also, I was going to watercolor the entire image but after I did her heart and bow I sort of lost interest :)

Cute Condoms Part II

Last Valentine's Day as part of a joke, I made these and then posted them to my blog. I never imagined that it would become the post that EVERYONE saw...and then teased me (and my husband) about.

So of course I had to make more Cute Condoms, and here they are. Enjoy!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Sometime this week I realized it's almost Valentine's Day! AH! It's not that I give so many Valentines away or anything, its just that I have so many cute products to use!

This card layout can work with any shape, occasion, patterned paper, embellishment and greeting that you want. The sky is really the limit here with how fancy you can make it too. I added only a little bit of bling to this particular card but I think you could really go nuts...or really simplify and it would still work great.

I'm totally falling in love with this new paper that looks like encyclopedia pages called First Edition.

Denim Valentine

I know I'm super slow getting these posted, and I'm sorry. Hopefully I'll get back into the groove of stamping AND blogging soon. Moving is a lot of work!

This is the second project I made with my club ladies last month. I love the image of the little girl, I love the sparkly red glitter paper and I love the patterned paper too!

After staring at the above card for a while I thought I'd add a little more sparky glittery goodness and here's what I came up with:

Farewell to You + Moi

I thought since it is June and all, I might feature all the stamp sets I have that are going away forever. Here are a couple cards that I made before I had a blog and so of course, never been posted.
This first card is super quick a simple. I also think it's pretty cute...if I do say so myself.

I used:

*You and Moi stamp set (and another set for the words but I can't remember the name of it. Sorry!)

* Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla

* Scallop Punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch

This card is another pretty quick card that I made with this set. It also uses some Kiwi Kiss which is now gone, but I'm sure you get the point.

* Kiwi Kiss Ribbon, Scallop Square punch, Corner Rounder punch

Elizabeth's Valentine

I was really going for feminine and lacey on this card for my very best friend. Its not a normal style for me and I think it might be better with some distressing. I'll have to try it again. Hmmm. But I do love the lacey look of the scallop edge punch.

I used an Aqua Painter and ink to color the rose and then trimmed it and popped it with some dimensionals. For the words, I printed a saying on cardstock because I didn't have a stamp that said exactly what I wanted "Are we not like two volumes of one book?"

The next thing for me to do is make some Jane Austen inspired cards. What would she send her friends if she were here today?

Mom's Valentine

I liked this card so much I decided to make it in three different color layouts. This was the first, which I loved but I felt a little weird about the black hearts...

So I made it with pink and red instead. This is the one I sent my Muti (Mom) because for some reason it just seemed like the right one for her.

And then I made this on in pinks. Maybe its because I have a baby girl, but I think it turned out looking more like a baby card than a Valentine. Oh well, cute baby card right?

Grandma's Valentine

This afternoon's card is for my Mother-in-Law. I saw this great card http://craftygrl.blogspot.com/2010/02/pretty-valentine-card.html and then got the idea to do it all in blues. I still like her's a bit better but...here we are.

Isaac's Valentine

So, I was trying to make a Valentine appropriate for my button collecting nephew and I had a hard time because while I buy a lot of buttons, I hardly ever use them. I just can't seem to want to part with them. Same with colored brads. Am I the only one that does this?
I'm not sure this card came out particularly boyish but I really like every thing about it anyway. Also, it was very easy to create which is always nice.
All I needed were some scraps of designer paper, a couple of punches, a button and some linen thread. I thouht the red heart would like to be popped so I backed it with some card stock and used a couple stampin' dimensionals and voila...done.

I wasn't sure if I like the white card stock so I made another just like it on kraft. I'm still not sure which one I like better.

I found inspiration for this card from Barb Mann.

Kaitlyn's Valentine and PPA 28

I made this card for my favorite little neice who is 3 years old, but with very sophisticated tastes. Also, she loves pink. When I saw the colors for the PPA challenge I thought Yay! a perfect fit!

Let me start by saying that if you do not find condoms to be funny, you should probably stop reading this.

Anyone still there? No? Well, that may be for the best anyway...

So, I was talking with my sister the other day about how it can be difficult to make cute cards for husbands because they don't really care about cute. Then we got to joking about what all men really want (from their wives) for Valentine's Day. Here's what I came up with. Cute AND appealing to men!

Cute? Maybe.

Funny? I think so.

Tacky? Definately!

 

I hope someone invites me to a bridal shower soon. Just think what else I could wrap up cute AND be totally embarrasing at the same time. Heh heh!

And honestly, what was that phrase supposed to refer to?

Ok, this one might be crossing the line, but I was really on a roll. Also, aren't we all glad I had the classy gold foil kind? That gets some points right?

This next one is a bit more subtle. Can you guess what's inside?

You know this is the perfect way to get your hubby to finally be ok with the amount of money you spend on Stampin' Up! Products.

Maybe he'll want you to spend some more...

Valentine Exchange!!!

Last night was stamp club and I thought it would be fun for us to exchange Valentine's with each other since most of us probably have not done that since gradeschool. It was so much fun!!! I just love seeing what everyone made!
