PPA 53 - Purple!

Two posts from me today. Wow!

I made this card for today's Pals Paper Arts challenge. The challenge is to create a monochromatic card using purple. I haven't played along for a while (because most of the time I'm just a little on the lazy side) but today I realy wanted to play because I just purchased my Perfect Plum ink pad and hadn't come up with a reason to use it yet. Thanks PPA!!!

Cannon's Thank You!

Here is Cannon's birthday thank you cards. He said he wanted orange and red and blue so I did my best to not make them look girly. They are also pretty simple, but I think that is a good thing sometimes.

This card design is a great standby when you're in a creative pinch. It's also nice because it's totally flat (for mailing purposes) and uses a bunch of scraps you have sitting around. See that Pumpkin Pie designer paper? I used one scrap for about 10 cards. Yay!

Tip: I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up all of the word stamps here. It would have been impossible, even on my best day, to line all four of them up perfectly!

You can't see it well in this picture, but the upper left corner is just punched out red circles layered on top of each other. I thought it added a little visual interest to the space and trust me, it looks cooler in person.

I've been working and working trying to make the perfect projects for this and I think I've finally done it! The only down side is my stampin' room is a bit of a disaster. Ok, it's a big disaster but at least the cards came out nice right?

Open House Wrap up!

I know it's been a while and I'm totally slow to post this but here is the rest of the cards I made for my open house a couple weeks ago.
Here was the entry table. All full of Stampin' goodies and sign ups. I'm still working on getting the last of it put away actually. Too bad it's WAY more fun to stamp than it is to do housework!

This is the baking dish of tank you gifts for everyone who came and either signed up for something or placed an order. There were single stamps or packs of 3 cards. I made WAY to much stuff of course, but I suppose it's always better to be prepared.

This was the most popular card design, and also the most labor intensive of the three. I've been dying to use my Beautiful Wings die with a grass background stamp. Yay!

I used:

* Inspired by Nature stamp set

* Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Whisper White

* Extra Large Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die

This was the least chosen card design of the bunch but it was my personal favorite. I was going for quick and cute and a little bit funky. Trust me, it looks even better in real life!

* On Your Birthday stamp set

* Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake

* Wide Oval Punch, Small Heart Punch, Pear Pizazz Ribbon

Oh, and here's the cute inside.

And last but not least, this classy little number!

This card is great because it takes about 4 minutes to make, has no bumps for easy shipping and uses VERY little product and so is very inexpensive but I don't think it looks cheap. You know?

Christmas in July!

And you thought only QVC did this didn't you?

I know I'm a bit nuts for making and posting this card so early in the Season, since it's still summer, but I do like to get a jump on things and it's been 6 entire months since I last used all my Christmas stamps. That's a pretty long time considering about half my stuff is Christmas themed.
Anywho, here's the card I've been dying to make since the Basic Rhinestones came out in the new catalog. Can you see them on the tree? It's better in person. I promise.So, here it is...Merry Christmas!

Open House Make and Takes Part 2

And here is the other project I provided for my guests to make at the open house.

This card uses a variety of new products but was still quick and easy, which is nice when I can't stand right there to help.

Here is an up-close shot of the new Chantilly1/2" crochet trim ribbon. Which I love.

* Naturals Ivory, Per Pizazz and Concord Crush card stock

* Scallop Edge Border Punch, Chantilly Crochet Trim

Tip: If you decided to make this card, try to stamp straight, unlike this card. Is that driving anyone else nuts?

Open House Make and Takes Part 1

Here is one of two of the projects I provided for everyone to came to my Open House last Saturday. Purchase of this set, Tag Alongs, benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities. I've known several families that have used this charity while their little ones have been treated at Primary Children's Hospital. It's a wonderful organization that I hope I never need, but I'm so grateful for it's existence. Also, this is a really fun little set so why not buy it, right?

I wanted to include this picture because it shows many of the products used. There are the clear blocks, which I still love, the Two Tags die, that made the little tags that open, and there in the back is the designer paper that now comes in a pack of 40 sheets for only $19.95!

Normally I'm opposed to penguins being a sign of Christmas, since they live at the SOUTH POLE which is as far away from Santa as you can get with out going to outer space, but in this case, this little dude is pretty cute in his scarf so I'll let it pass as long as I don't see him sipping Coke with polar bears. That might change my mind.

I LOVE the new Early Espresso color. I love the way it stamps and gives such a dark inky brown color. I wasn't sure I'd like it as much as Chocolate Chip but it's official, I love it.
