Get Well Punch Flowers

I needed to make a "Get Well" card for a friend but had no idea of what I would actually do. While procrastinating, I sat down at my computer and came across this lovely blog tutorial http://jeffandmeplustwoandthree.blogspot.com/2010/01/paper-flower-tutorial.html and just had to give it a try.
For this card I used:
*Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set
*Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry card stock and ink
*Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper
*Scallop Circle punch and Scallop Edge Punch
*Rhinestone brads

And here's a pic of my very well used Scallop Circle Punch and some of the flower layers I used. Like an old pair of jeans it brings me happy thoughts of comfort. I would be lost without it.

I made the mistake of showing the above card to my Hubby. He said it looks like an "Old Lady" card. :(
So I got to thinking, how can I make it look a bit more youthful? Well, I used the exact same technique but with a different punch and here's what I got...
So I'm not sure it looks younger, but I like this effect too. I think it looks like a wild rose. Yay!

I used pretty much the same supplies for this card except I switched the scallop circle with the new Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch and I added the large oval punch to pop the saying a little bit more. Oh, and this is a little smaller too. Its a 4 1/4" square.
My new punch...looking a bit shiny.

Happy Moments Tote and PPA 26

The challenge this week at Pals Paper Arts is "Anything BUT a Card" which just sounded too fun to pass up! http://www.palspaperarts.com/

To see a tutorial on how to make this cute little note card holder check out the link here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/notecardtote/

The note cards are 3x3 square and the envelopes that go with them are the small square envelopes in the catalog. They all fit nicely in this cute and easy tote so if you're looking for a nice little gift, this is a good one!

I did some real watercoloring using an Aqua Painter and re-inkers. The Aqua Painter is a little fussy at first but I actually enjoyed using it more than I thought I would.

Both the Happy Moments stamp set AND the Scallop Trim Border Punch that I used can be found in the Sale-A-Bration mini catalog and can be earned free! Yay! All you need to do is spend $50 and then choose what you'd like. SO FUN!

I used:
*Happy Moments stamp set
*So Saffron, Old Olive, Real Red and Whisper White card stock, ink and ribbon
*Scallop Trim Border Punch, Aqua Painter, Silver Brads

Happy Moments!

I was inspired to make these from a card on Mary Fish's fantastic blog. You should check it out. She's amazing!

This first card is, I think the one we'll be making at club next month. I can't remember where I got the idea to make a vase out of a punched out circle, but ti was super easy. I also ran it through my big shot to give it some texture.

For all the projects today I used:
*Happy Moments (Sale-A-Bration) stamp set
*Basic black ink
*Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie Card Stock, ribbon and markers
*Perfect Polka Dots Textured Imppressions Folder

I really enjoyed coloring the images. Probably because I did such a messy job! Sometimes I have a hard time using the markers to color because they are just sooooo bold, but this time I think it was a perfect look.

I also usually avoid crooked items on my cards but again, it seemed appropriate today. I guess I was feeling a little relaxed. Who knows.

Which do you like best?

Sending Love Scrapbook Page

Better late than never right? Now that Maggie is a year old I guess I better get working on her baby book. Here's the first page! Yay!!!

I used all the same products for this page as I did for the previous post. What's so great about this idea is that ideas totally work for more than just a card or a page. I could make this into a picture to frame on the wall too. It's all the same idea. I'm going to really try to make a page whenever I sit down to make cards. I'm not in the habit of doing it, but I'll try to push myself.

Oh, and I also added corduroy buttons to this page. I couldn't resist their cutie-ness.

With All My Heart - Flower Pot Card

Ive been wanting to make one of these for a long time now but the new Extr Large Fancy Flower Punch and the Sending Love Specialty paper were more than I could take. I had to finally do it. And it was soooo easy! This is the second crd tht my stamp club made this month. I was way to sick to go so I hope they liked it. I really missed seeing all the ladies but I'm sure they didn't want me there anyway.

Here's a link to the great tutorial where I found this. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/flowerpotpocket/

And here is the inside:

I used:
*With All My Heart stamp set
*Very Vanilla, Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink card stock and ribbon
*Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch, Small Heart Punch, 3/4" circle punch, scallop punch, and Sending Love Specialty Paper

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my Dad's B-Day, and here's the card I sent a few days ago. I hope he got it!

I used:
Wonderful Favorites and Lots of Bots stamp sets
Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Whisper White card stock, ribbon and ink
Safty pin and Matte Pack for holes

I hope its the best birthday ever. Love you Dad!

Thank You - With all my Heart

Cutest. Paper. EVER!!!!!

Todays projects all feature new tems from the 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog that was released on Tuesday.

This stamp set is called: With all My Heart - And it comes in either wood mounted or the new clear mounted stamps.

As much as I have loved and still love my wood mounted stamps, I may be switching over entirely. These clear blocks are just sooo pretty. Maybe even a little bit sexy.

Did I mention the clear block have lovely rounded edges and no sharp corners. Very comfy to use.

Here's how the stamp set comes. The cases are similar to a DVD case and are all a standard size for easy storage. Cool right? Oh, and they are a few dollars cheaper than the traditional kind, so one you invest in the clear blocks you might even be able to save a few bucks...for more stamps!

These cases take up way less storage room, so I'll be able to fit a lot more stamps sets in my giant tub which means I'll be able to buy even more. Yay!!!

And here, finally are the actual projects I made:
I used:
* Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper - It is, I think, the cutest paper I have ever seen. Did I mention that one side of each sheet is embellished with glittery goodness?
* Real Red, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla card stock, ribbon and Ink

These cards are all 4 1/4" square so the still fit in a standard A2 envelope just fine.

I love making this card design when I have super cute paper to show off. Its almost completely flat (so it ships nice) is pretty quick to make and looks adorable.

Can you see the glitter?

Here's a different design, still pretty basic and still using all the same products.

And another...

Somes times I like to be "fancy fancy" (thanks Kaitlyn) and stamp my envelopes to match. Also, its a nother opportunity to stamp.

Stay tuned for a very exciting class announcment using these products in my next post!

I (heart) Hearts!

This is one of the the projects we'll be making at club this month. I've been thinking about it for quite a while now so I'm really happy to see it actually in existence.

I used a bunch of new products that will be available for purchase on Tuesday January 5th. If you'd like to see them up close, check out the new Occasions Mini Catalog on the right sidebar.

Also, I got a new camera for Christmas (thanks Mom!) and I haven't quite gotten used to photographing cards with it, its trickier than you might think. Or maybe I'm just not good at taking pics. Either way, the color in these photos is a little off... but I'll work on it.

I found inspirations for this card on Heather Wachtman's beautiful blog here: http://creationsbyheather.com/2009/12/08/for-all-you-do-tiny-tags-new-beautiful-wings-embossing-card-share/

I used:
* I (heart) Hearts and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets
*Craft, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue Card stock
*Chocolate Chip, Orchid Opulence, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink and Apricot Appeal inks
*Heart to Heart punch
*Small Square Glassine Envelopes
* A safety pin (for peircing)

I used all the exact same products for this next card but because I used the new glassine envelope on the last card I thought I had better use the note card that goes with it on this card. Cute right? It's called "Kisses" and I can't wait to use it more!

Did you notice the cute glassybaby peeking out from behind the cards? They are my favorite things to obsess about...besides stamps of course! Check them out at: http://www.glassybaby.com/default.aspx

Check out the new stuff!

A couple things:

1) Click on the new mini catalogs on the right sidebar to see what's coming up for sale on January 5th! Not only is there the new Occasions Mini Catalog, there is also the Sale-A-Brations mini to check out. Yay!!!!

2) Yes. I know my blog is a bit hard to read with the patterned background. Who reads these things anyway? Don't we all just look at the pictures?

Goodbye Holiday mini...and dormant stamps

Well, we've known this day was coming, the day we say goodbye to the current holiday mini catalog. Monday January 4th is the last day you can order anything from it's luscious pages. Sad, I know, but if you hurry, you can still get you hands on some goodies and maybe if you start now, you'll be finished with all your holiday projects without totally losing it.

In other news, there are some stamps that have been on the "dormant" list since the last catalog came out that are also retiring on Monday. Scroll down to the bottom to take a look. I have a couple of these stamp sets and I thought, as a nice farewell, I'd post a couple projects.

This card uses the adorable and oh-so-versatile Garden Greetings set. I'm sad to see it go. It had so many fun uses and the words that are included are dynamite. So long....

And this next card is an invitation I made for my Mom in October for a Halloween party. Cool right? This set, Grand Soiree, totally lends itself to the creepy. I'll miss it. I was totally going to throw a Halloween party someday and use this too. Farewell...

So, with that, here it is. Alvetersain, adieu...
